2023 Ford Super Duty: The toughest pickup trucks

Completely redesigned, the F-Series Super Duty has the toughest versions of the pickup truck line. Designed for heavy-duty use, the 2023 version offers more powertrains, new technology and equipment. The Super Duty provides more power, towing capacity and payloads than its competitors. It's the most capable and intelligent truck yet.

Powerful powertrain

Four V8 engines are available, including a new 6.7-litre high-efficiency diesel that delivers 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 40,000 lbs and the maximum payload is 8,000 lbs for the F-450. Four-wheel drive is available as an option with rear-wheel drive. All engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Modern, off-road body style

The 2023 Super Duty will be recognizable by one of its seven grilles framed by a "C" shaped illumination designed to better ventilate the engines. The finishes are numerous. In addition to the base XL and XLT, there are the luxury Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trims, or the sporty Tremor option for off-road excursions offered with the King Ranch and Platinum. The Super Duty passenger models (also available in chassis cab) have a regular, extended or four-door Super Crew cab with a 6.75 or 8-foot bed.

Spacious and practical interior

Inspired by the most luxurious F-150s, the Super Duty's interior has an eight-inch center infotainment screen that expands to twelve inches with top-of-the-line finishes. The 12-inch instrument panel can be adjusted to the user's taste. Ford also offers optional Max Recline seats that can be folded down completely or choose an eight-speaker audio system or an 18-speaker 1080-watt version.

Accessories and Towing

With scales that calculate the exact weight of loads in the bed and display them on a FordPass app, a 360-degree trailer camera system or a dead spot information system for fifth-wheel or gooseneck-equipped pickups that can be attached to the trailer, the Ford Super Duty is full of innovation. Also available, the head-up display or Pro Power Onboard system with 2.0 kW of electricity with power outlets in the bed.
